Theta Rewards, as well as Theta Tokens, will power the upcoming esports channel that will feature streamers from FaZe Clan as well as Method and NRG. In addition to the streaming of games, users will be able to enjoy additional functionality such as trivia prizes and the ability to predict games.
Gamers who stream Tencent Game, Ring of Elysium battle royal game, stand a chance to earn Theta Tokens. Likewise, all one has to do, is to log in and watch live content to stand a chance of walking away with the tokens.
Winners will be able to use the tokens to purchase in-game items and skins within the SLIVER.tv platform. The tokens could also come in handy in purchasing real-world products from associated sponsors.
“Our partnership with Tencent Games will help us continue to drive interactive esports by featuring exciting content from Ring of Elysium. Combined with our unique Theta rewards and blockchain technology, users become part of the esports experience, driving greater engagement and retention for our partners and games,” said Mitch Liu SILVER.tv CEO.
Theta Blockchain is looking to curve a substantial amount of market share in the video delivery ecosystem. That said project developers are to reward users with Theta tokens for re-streaming video content using excess bandwidth in other devices.
A partnership with Tencent Games is a significant milestone for Theta Blockchain and Theta tokens. The partnership comes on the heels of South Korean exchange Bithumb announcing the listing of the token in its platform.
Tencent Games, on the other hand, is planning to strengthen its empire by leveraging blockchain and cryptocurrency power. The company boasts of the largest operating revenue for a gaming company. However, it sees an opportunity by targeting gamers focused on cryptocurrency.
