Crypto trading exchange, Coinbase has announced that it has hired Tim Wagner. The growing crypto firm revealed that the former general manager of Amazon Web Services Inc, (AWS) has been appointed Vice President of its engineering department.
Through its official blog, Coinbase Chief Executive, Brian Armstrong stated that engineering was part of his firm’s main strategy to provide the easiest and most trusted digital currency products and services. Consequently, he went on to disclose that Wagner would be responsible for leading and expanding the crypto firm’s engineering team.
Coinbase stands to benefit from Wagner?s expertise in the software sector. Initially, he was the director of development at Microsoft?s department of Visual Studio Ultimate, where he served for six years. In January 2103, Wagner moved to Amazon where he has served as general manager at different departments before ending up as the GM of AWS Serverless App Repository.
Wagner stated via a tweet that he was pleased to join the Coinbase team. He felt that just like AWS revolutionized distributed systems, Coinbase was aiding developers to benefit from the blockchain technology as well as digital currencies.
Coinbase is an exchange that allows Bitcoin and other digital coin holders to trade their assets. Additionally, it assists businesses to manage their cryptocurrency holdings. Finally, it creates new ways of accepting virtual currency in exchange for various products and services.
