Rewards.com has added support for DASH, as part of its rewards payment option, in one of the clearest indication that cryptocurrencies are slowly finding their way into the mainstream industry. The reward’s site has partnered with Dash to offer DASH as cashback redemption option in addition to fiat currencies that it currently supports.

Rewards.com has partnered with thousands of online retailers whereby if you shop in those sites via Rewards.com you are usually entitled to a cashback, which can be money sent to a bank or Paypal account or a gift card in some cases.
With the new reward scheme, customers shopping via Reward.com will be allowed to specify how they wish to redeem their cash back, be it via cryptocurrency DASH or Fiat currency. Customers will have to enable the DASH option manually something that could affect the rate of acceptance.
Co-Founder and CEO of Rewards.com Todd Rowan believes the new partnership presents customers a unique opportunity to get some exposure and introduction into cryptocurrencies as opposed to going to crypto exchanges.
“You can keep your rewards in the ecosystem just like you would with any type of reward point or redeem it for products, travel, restaurants, or gift cards. The earnings from Rewards.com will help you to start to learn about how to use cryptocurrency, including trading it on the market for Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies. Rewards.com takes us one step closer to global mainstream acceptance of cryptocurrency,” said Mr. Rowan.
By integrating DASH, Rewards.com is already hinting at the possibility of adding support for other cryptocurrencies in the near future. However, it is highly unlikely that the company will integrate the likes of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) that command huge price tags and come with high levels of volatility.
Adding support for smaller market caps cryptocurrencies looks possible as the firm continues to make inroads in the cryptocurrency space. It remains to be seen if integration of DASH will have any significant impact on the virtual currency price. It will also be interesting to see how the major retailers that Rewards.com has partnered with will respond to the additional of DASH support.
